Congruence

Rachel Luna
Student Life

To me, congruence means acting in alignment with personal values and beliefs. This represents both a value and an aspiration for me. Congruence is who I want to be and how I want to live my life. As I continually strive for this, I think about a challenge from Thoreau: "It is not enough to be busy," he said. "So are the ants. The question is: what are we busy about?" With congruence, my life can be a busy and happy one based on values, consistency of action, and authenticity of self.
