The word “rooted” has such a great meaning to me. As a person I try to stay grounded to a few central values of Social Justice, Family and Laughter. Yet, “rooted” means more than just values. In today’s global society we find that we are rooted to our planet. Looking back to my heritage, many of the native people of Mexico and Central America believe that man is made from the earth, and that we as a people are rooted and connected to the earth. Looking forward, I am excited for the future, knowing that the values I have will stand firm no matter what challenges I may face.
